Two explosive devices found near Blue Heron Lake in South Jeffco spurred the evacuation of 12 homes Tuesday morning.
The Jeffco Sheriff’s Office and West Metro Fire Rescue evacuated the homes in the 10700 block of West Berry Place as a precaution when the first device was discovered, sheriff’s spokesman Mark Techmeyer said.
The devices were made out of plastic bottles and fireworks. Authorities detonated the two devices along the trail near Blue Heron Lake, Techmeyer said. No one was injured.
