COLUMBINE REBELS
Head coach: Melanie Watkins
Classification: 5A Jeffco
2011 recap: Placed fourth in the league before falling to Arapahoe in the district tournament.
Players to watch: Lauren Cole, Sr., middle blocker; Caitlin Chamness, Sr., right-side hitter; Hannah Boyle, Soph., outside hitter
Season opener: Sept. 4, vs. Douglas County
State championship: Nov. 9-10,
Denver Coliseum
Outlook: “We are in a building year, plain and simple. We are starting to build the program with a lot of new players coming in, so we will have to fight to get each win throughout the year,” Watkins said.

CHATFIELD CHARGERS
Head coach: Stephanie Schick
Classification: 5A Jeffco
2011 recap: Finished third in the Jeffco League before losing to Grandview in the districts.
Players to watch: Megan Bohn, Sr., outside hitter; Rachel Flores, Sr., setter; Syd Lecker, Jr., outsider hitter
Season opener: Sept. 1-2, Regis Jam Tournament at Gold Crown Field  House, Lakewood  
State championship: Nov. 9-10,
Denver Coliseum
Outlook: “We went to the CSU team camp and it was so exciting because the girls have already built chemistry,” Schick said. “I hope that we can continue our good chemistry because they have a lot of fun goals set for themselves.”

DAKOTA RIDGE EAGLES
Head coach: Nikki Knuer
Classification: 5A Jeffco
2011 recap: Placed fifth in the Jeffco League
Players to watch: Ashley DiFulvio, Sr., outside hitter; Lauren Wood, Jr., right-side hitter; Brogan Wallin, Soph., right-side setter
Season opener: Aug. 30, at Douglas County, 6:30 p.m.
State championship: Nov. 9-10, Denver Coliseum
Outlook: “We are going to improve our standings this season from last year and to continue to build our skills as a team and to show how we have improved over the last four years,” Knuer said.

LITTLETON LIONS
Head coach: Margaret Whalen
Classification: 5A Continental
2011 recap: It was a refueling year for the Lions with a young team with very minimal varsity experience.
Players to watch: Annika Hacker, Sr., setter; Tasha Habert, Jr., outside hitter; Sarah Gerken, Sr., middle hitter
Season opener: Sept 6. vs. D’Evelyn, 6:30 p.m.
State championship: Nov. 9-10, Denver Coliseum
Outlook: “We have more seasoned players this season and are looking for leadership from (our upper classman), primarily captain Annika Hacker,” Whalen said. “The added experience from junior Tasha Habert will be an additional contributor as well.”

FRONT RANGE CHRISTIAN FALCONS
Head coach: Kathleen Sherman
Classification: 2A District 4
2011 recap: Took fourth at regionals
Players to watch: Meredith Whatley, Sr., outside hitter; Taya Hanna, Jr., middle blocker
Season opener: Aug. 30 vs. Lyons, 6 p.m.
State championship: Nov. 9-10, Denver Coliseum
Outlook: “We have a great group of girls who are ready for a great season,” Sherman said. “We have worked hard over the summer and can’t wait to get started.”
