2012 record: 12-4-1, second round of the 5A state tournament
2012 recap: Thirteen seniors led Chatfield to a second-place league finish and the second round of the state playoffs. The Chargers season was ended by Boulder, the eventual 5A state champions. Chatfield tied Boulder at 2-all with 90 seconds left in regulation only to concede the game-winning goal with 40 seconds left.
Players to watch: Ben Overholt, Jr., Striker; Jamey McGrath, Jr.; Steven Seagraves, Sr., GK; Lee Holmes, Sr., MF; Chad Haase, Sr.
Season opener: Aug. 29, vs. ThunderRidge, 4 p.m.
State finals: Nov. 9, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, TBA
Outlook: “We’re looking to again challenge for the league title and be competitive again on the statewide stage,” Blume said. Chatfield lost to eventual 5A Jeffco champion Arvada West 2-1 in overtime last season.

2012 record: 5-9-1
2012 recap: Dakota Ridge went 1-6-1 in the 5A Jeffco League to finish eighth in the nine-team field. The Eagles closed the season 1-7-1 in their final nine games, beating Pomona in its next-to-last game for its lone conference victory.
Players to watch: Jake Jones, Sr., F; Austin Starr, Sr., Center MF; Zach Barwick, Jr., Center MF
Season opener: Aug. 30, vs. Castle View, 6 p.m.
State finals: Nov. 9, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City
Outlook: Dakota Ridge returns seven starters from last year’s team, but the Eagles lost their starting goalkeeper Charlie D’Adamio to the Colorado Rapids Academy. “We’ll live and die off our work ethic. We’ll be competitive in the league,” Smerchek said.

2012 record: 1-13-1
2012 recap: Columbine went 0-7-1 in the 5A Jeffco League, closing the season on a 12-game winless streak. The Rebels were outscored 49-16 and were shut out three times.

Season opener: Aug. 30, at Cherokee Trail, 4 p.m.

Outlook: “We are looking to improve upon our performance from last year.  
In 2013, we should see improvement in our play on the field and in our overall record. We return a number of players from last year and varsity experience is really important at the high school level,” Martin said.
