CHATFIELD CHARGERS
Head coach: Brock Blume

Classification: 5A Jeffco

Players to watch: Ben Overholt, Sr., Striker; Jamey McGrath, Sr., Midfielder; Jared Reiss, Sr., Midfielder
Season opener: Aug. 28, at ThunderRidge, 4:30 p.m.
State championship: Nov. 8, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, 3:30 p.m.
Season outlook: After graduating 11 seniors, Chatfield is looking to rebound and continue to battle for the league title as well as advance beyond the second round of the state tournament. The Chargers schedule is bolstered with legitimate opponents from all over the state and they are hoping to improve based on the quality of the schedule.

FRONT RANGE CHRISTIAN FALCONS
Head coach: Eli Spector
Assistant coaches: Jeff Peterson, Skyler Alden
Classification: 2A Mile High League 
2013 record: N/A. First year of the program
Players to watch: Jackson Bambei, Jr., Goalkeeper; Luke Newell, Fr., Forward
Season opener: Sept. 2, at Campion Academy, 6 p.m.
State championship: N/A
Season outlook: Coach Spector is expecting players to build excitement for the first-year program, which is playing a JV schedule this season, and set the bar high for future years. He is excited for the legacy that his players will leave for those who follow.

COLUMBINE REBELS 
Head coach: Zach Martin
Assistant coaches: Mark Hall, Kristine Suddath, Dominic Odom
Classification: 5A Jeffco
2013 record: 1-13-1, 1-7 5A Jeffco
Players to watch: Jake Penrose, Sr., Forward/Mid; Nate Dunning, Sr., Mid/Defender; Easton Hartman, Soph., Goalkeeper
Season opener: Aug. 28, vs. Lincoln, 3:30 p.m.
State championship: Nov. 8, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, 3:30 p.m.
Season outlook: Martin is entering his second season at the helm. This group has experience at the varsity level. It is a senior-laden team with an optimistic view of 2014 having gone through back to back 1-13-1 seasons. The Rebels are shooting for a realistic goal of winning half of their games in order for the season to be a successful one.

DAKOTA RIDGE EAGLES
Head coach: Damon Smerchek
Assistant coaches: Ryan Miller, Peter Dunda
Classification: 5A Jeffco
2013 record: 2-12-1, 1-6-1 5A Jeffco
Players to watch: Zach Barwick, Sr., Forward;  Hunter Ward, Sr., Goalkeeper;  Marshal Ivy, Jr., Forward
Season opener: Aug. 28, at Legacy, 6 p.m.
State championship: Nov. 8, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, 3:30 p.m.
Season outlook: Coach Smerchek always assembles a tough and competitive team with a great work ethic and this group is no different. Ivy found the back of the net three times last season, and Ward recorded over 1,100 minutes in goal as a junior.

LITTLETON LIONS
Head coach: Pedja Vajzovic
Assistant coach: Terry Banfield
Classification: 4A Jeffco
2013 record: 9-5-2, 6-3-2 5A Continental
Players to watch: Sam Korff, Sr., Midfielder; Hamadi Aliabid, Jr., Midfielder
Season opener: Aug. 26, vs. Dakota Ridge, 6 p.m.
State championship: Nov. 8, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, 1 p.m.
Season outlook: Last season, the Lions lost to Chatfield in the 5A state tournament. This year, the goal is higher with a fine crop of players returning.  Littleton finished in the top four in the league standings in 2013. The duo of Korff and Aliabid are dangerous on the offensive side of the field.
