A bill that may go a long way in resolving Jeffco's voting machine conundrum passed the state Senate on Feb. 4, and it may render a county appeal of the secretary of state’s decertification of voting machines moot.
"If that bill passes, I'm not sure what the secretary of state would do with pending appeals," said Josh Liss, Jeffco's deputy of elections. The bill would allow the secretary of state to recertify voting machines that were decertified late last year after abbreviated retesting and more input from counties and manufacturers.
