LAKEWOOD- The Durango girls soccer team may have traveled to its game on a luxury Coachliner-like bus, but it was Chatfield who played with all the style.
The Chargers defeated the Demons 3-1 on May 10 in a Class 5A state tournament second round game at Lakewood Memorial Field to advance to the quarterfinals.
“It helps a lot playing at home,” said Chatfield coach Brock Blume, whose team also played at home in the quarterfinals on May 13. “That’s why we work so hard on the regular season to get a high seed and get that advantage.”
