Temporary location set up in Bowles Crossing

In an April 12 hearing, the Jeffco Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval for renovations at the Columbine Library.

Architects and library representatives came before the commission seeking site approval to allow for parking improvements and exterior renovations of the library.

The resolution put forth by the planning commission says the library’s proposal is in conformance with the master plan, and the proposed improvements will not result in significant impacts to the health, safety and welfare of the residents and landowners in the surrounding area.

The Columbine branch of the Jeffco Public Library system closed April 9 for the renovations. The project is expected to take at least five months to complete.

A temporary location in the Bowles Crossing Shopping Center, 8055 W. Bowles Ave Unit 2T, has since opened in its place. The rented location will house a smaller collection and be open shorter hours.

The schedule is as follows:

• Noon to 5 p.m., Sunday

• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday

• 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday

• 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday

• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday

• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday

• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday
