Pick up the phone — it’s your county commissioners calling.
In the next few weeks, all three members of Jeffco’s Board of Commissioners will take part in telephone town hall meetings focused on transportation issues. During the meetings, the commissioners will randomly call constituents to invite them to participate in the hour-long discussion.
The forums will focus specifically on the Western Beltway, or WestConnect, project that focuses on transportation through the western corridor of the Denverarea, specifically the proposed Jefferson Parkway, Sixth Avenue, C-470 and Colorado 93. The commissioners will take questions on transportation issues only during the meetings.
During the last telephone town hall meeting on June 26, more than 50,000 calls were placed to residents in Jeffco. More than 5,700 people participated, on average, for about 10 minutes each.
The meetings will be from 7 to 8 p.m. on the following days:
Thursday, Aug. 22: Commissioner Faye Griffin, District 1, northern Jeffco
Monday, Aug. 26: Commissioner Donald Rosier, District 3, southern Jeffco
Tuesday, Aug. 27: Commissioner Casey Tighe, District 2, the central district
All three commissioners will participate in a fourth telephone town hall on Sept. 25 on the county’s 2014 budget.
If you don’t receive a call from the commissioners during the meetings, you still may participate by calling 877-229-8493. The code to enter the meetings is 110302.
