County creates two new taxing districts in South Jefferson County

-A A +A

Revenue would pay for infrastructure for residential developments

By Ramsey Scott

Jefferson County has approved the creation of two new metropolitan districts with taxing powers in South Jeffco despite county policy that discourages such districts as a way to pay for infrastructure.

The Reserve at the Meadows Metropolitan District, 19.5 acres on the southwest corner of Simms Street and Ward Street, and the Silver Leaf Metropolitan District, 57.3 acres at the southwest corner of Kipling Parkway and Coal Mine Avenue, will now be able to finance construction of the necessary infrastructure for two future developments.
