DA reopens criminal probe in embezzlement from sports group

The Jeffco sheriff closed an investigation into a person suspected of stealing more than $100,000 from the South Jeffco Sports Association without seeking charges — but the district attorney, for one, wants to know more about the case.

“The DA’s office requested the reports from the sheriff’s department,” said Pam Russell, spokeswoman for District Attorney Scott Storey. “Essentially, the case is reopened.”
