LAKEWOOD — The two facets of offensive football were laid bare on a sunny Saturday at Jefferson County Stadium.
The Dakota Ridge Eagles passed and ran for small chunks of yardage Sept. 20, moving the ball deliberately and delicately down the field against the Wheat Ridge Farmers.
The Farmers, however, went for minimum effort and maximum gain – big plays and big results.
All the Eagles got were first downs. The Farmers, however, got touchdowns to spark a 35-7 whipping in a key Class 4A West Metro League showdown rich with recent history.
