Fire engulfed a home on South Rapp Street in Littleton on May 14.

Littleton firefighters received the call about a house on fire at 5868 S. Rapp St., near Arapahoe Community College, about 4:13 p.m.

"When we turned the corner, we saw there was flames," said Bethany Stuhlman, who was one of the first people to see the house on fire.

Stuhlman, who was going to a neighboring office building, said at first only the right side of the house was on fire. She said she saw a man run to the front and back of the house to make sure no one was still inside.

A few minutes after another witness called 911, police arrived and blocked off the street. Firefighters arrived about seven minutes after the initial call and had the fire contained by about 4:28 p.m., said Kelli Nardi, Littleton's director of communications.

"I've never seen anything like that," Stuhlman said.

There were no injures, and firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to the neighboring buildings.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Check
