A survey by the Foothills Park and Recreation District features several questions on a possible property-tax increase.

The district has discussed putting a mill-levy increase on this November’s ballot to help pay for infrastructure work, including up to $8 million in repairs and upgrades at Clement Park.

“We want to know whether there would be support for a potential mill-levy election,” said Foothills Executive Director Ron Hopp. “Since we’re considering that, we wanted to engage the community on their opinion as we develop that process.”

The survey, which is available online at www.ifoothills.org/2014survey, has several questions regarding a possible tax increase. One asks if the respondent is aware of efficiencies and efforts to cut costs made by the district since a mill-levy election failed in 2008.

The survey also includes questions on how residents would like to see possible new revenue spent.

Hopp said the district has until July to file the paperwork for a mill-levy election. The survey is open until May 16.
