A man wanted by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office that eluded capture Thursday night in South Jeffco has been arrested.
David Shane Gosik, 34, was being sought by authorities in connection with several charges in Douglas and Arapahoe counties. He was arrested May 19 at the Pebble Creek apartment complex near West Hampden Avenue and South Harlan Street.
A SWAT team from Denver was called to search the buildings Sunday after Gosik had been spotted entering the property. Gosik was found shortly afterward and was arrested without incident. He had been considered armed and dangerous.
Arapahoe sheriff's Capt. Larry Etheridge said authorities had been tracking Gosik for several days when he escaped capture in South Jeffco.
Ethridge said surveillance teams had been trailing Gosik on Thursday when Gosik became aware he was being followed and jumped out of the car and fled on foot. Officers from Douglas and Arapahoe counties set up a perimeter Thursday night near Platte Canyon and Ken Caryl but were unable to find Gosik.
Gosik was wanted on suspicion of menacing, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, burglary, and vehicular eluding, among other counts.
