A fund has been started to help pay the cost of a burial service for a young boy who died after falling into Chatfield Reservoir.

Andres Patrick Sena, 4, of Littleton was the victim of an accidental drowning at Chatfield Reservoir on July 5. A family friend has started an effort to raise money for funeral services on the website gofundme.com.

The city of Littleton is helping with the fund-raising efforts by getting the message out. Andres’ great-uncle, Rick Dodson, is a 25-year employee of Littleton’s building maintenance division.

Littleton spokeswoman Kelli Narde said the city wants to support a member of its staff while the family deals with the loss. Littleton has posted on its Facebook and Twitter accounts the call for donations.

Andres is survived by his parents, Patrick and Valerie, and a newborn sister.

Andres was found by Littleton Fire Rescue’s dive team near the southeastern shore of the reservoir after he went missing July 5. His death was ruled an accidental drowning by the Douglas County coroner.

The donation page has a goal of $5,000 and as of July 12 had raised more than $3,000. To donate or to find out more, visit www.gofundme.com/b9jm8c
