Arson is suspected in seven grass fires that broke out Monday along West 44th Avenue in north Jeffco.
The Sheriff’s Office said it suspected that the seven fires, started between 8 and 9 a.m. Jan. 20 near Colorado 58, were intentionally set. The fires were spread out over a 2-mile stretch between 14700 and 18600 W. 44th Ave.
Firefighters from the Golden, Fairmount and Pleasant View departments helped put out the fire and kept the flames from spreading, the Sheriff’s Office said.
