A 79-year-old groundskeeper was run over by a tractor and died the morning of June 24 while working at the Meadows Golf Course.
John Meyers was found by golfers on the ninth hole with his chest pinned beneath one of the tractor's rear tires.
Jeffco sheriff’s spokesman Mark Techmeyer said Meyers had been using the tractor for seeding. It appeared the tractor's rear wheel rolled over Meyers when he stopped to get a bag from an attachment on the front of the vehicle to put seed in an attachment behind it.
