ARVADA — Columbine is a football team that will enter the 2008 Class 5A state tournament with more than a few concerns.
Primary among them is the health of junior quarterback Danny Spond. Spond was knocked out of the Rebels’ Oct. 24 showdown with Pomona in the first quarter after sustaining a hit to his throwing shoulder. Spond, who missed two games earlier in the season nursing a similar shoulder injury, did not return.
