An inmate at the Jefferson County jail was reported to have died Sunday morning.
The man, who had been arrested by Lakewood police on Saturday, was found in his cell about 11:15 a.m. by a Jeffco sheriff's deputy during lunch service. The deputy tried to revive the unresponsive man with CPR and called for medical assistance.
The man was pronounced dead 40 minutes later.
The death is under investigation, but the Sheriff's Office said it had ruled out any second-party involvement.
