The Jeffco Sheriff's Office is warning drivers to be on the lookout after receiving several complaints about car windows being shattered while motorists are driving along C-470, U.S. 285 and I-70.

The first incident, on July 24, involved a vehicle traveling east on C-470 at Alameda Parkway.

The most recent incident, on Nov. 19, happened while a woman was driving west on C-470 at Alameda.

Since the Sheriff’s Office issued a news release last week about the three separate incidents, sheriff's spokesman Mark Techmeyer said, it has received eight more complaints about car windows being broken.

Two of the reports were not in the original area of concern; one was on I-70 and one in Douglas County on C-470. Four of the new incidents involved side windows breaking, two were front windshields, and two were sunroofs, Techmeyer said.

The Sheriff’s Office said there was no evidence any of the incidents were related.

In the two November incidents the Sheriff’s Office reported on last week, both drivers heard a loud bang or a gunshot before the windows shattered. The Sheriff's Office found no projectiles in its investigation of the incidents, Techmeyer said.

The Sheriff's Office is looking for a gold or brown Honda 4-door sedan that could be connected to the incidents.

Earlier this month, a woman reported to the Sheriff's Office that a man near Turkey Creek Road and Colorado 8 was firing a gun across the highway. Deputies responded but found no one.

While the Honda may not be involved, Techmeyer said, people should call if they see that vehicle pulled over in the area.

Techmeyer said the sheriff has increased patrols in the area and has asked the public to report anything suspicious. If you have any information, call the sheriff's tip line at 303-271-5612.
