A break-in early Sunday at a liquor store on South Kipling Parkway might be connected to a recent series of smash-and grab burglaries, according to the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office.

Security footage shows two people breaking into the store at 5055 S. Kipling Parkway about 1 a.m. April 13 by using large landscaping rocks to break the glass door. The pair, wearing work gloves, hooded sweatshirts and bandanas over their faces, took the cash register and liquor and left.

Sheriff’s spokesman Mark Techmeyer said the crime was similar to break-ins in Lakewood and Wheat Ridge. In each incident, the perpetrators used large rocks to break glass doors.

The pair left in a late 1990s or early 2000s Acura.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the burglaries to call the tip line at 303-271-5612.
