It’s a new year, and Littleton’s website is getting a new look.

The city’s redesigned website, which was scheduled to premiere Jan. 7, features several new features and a more user-friendly interface, according to a news release from the city.

Littleton’s website debuted in 2000, and these latest changes mark the first time the city has allocated funds to redesign the website.

“We’re really looking forward to the new website. It looks fresh and exciting and has a lot more features,” City Manager Michael Penny said in the news release. “It is organized by function now as well as by city department, so visitors should have an easier time finding the information they need.”

Some of the new features include mobile phone compatibility, a way for residents to sign up for specific notifications about city news, a citywide events calendar, and ways to share stories and events from the website on social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter.

The city, unlike in 2000, sought outside help in building the new website, which was designed by Vision Internet from California, a company that has helped design more than 500 governmental websites.
