The Jeffco Sheriff's Office has released more details about a suspect in a sexual assault in January.

The assault occurred about 8 a.m. Jan. 25 while a woman was walking along a bike path near C-470 and South Wadsworth Boulevard.

The woman was attacked from behind as she entered a tunnel that passes under C-470.

The woman described her attacker as a white man with tan skin and brown hair, between the ages of 30 and 40, about 5-foot-8 and weighing 175 to 185 pounds. He had acne and acne scars on both cheeks, bushy eyebrows and a very pronounced Adam's apple.

Jeffco sheriff's Investigator Jamie Greaser, the lead investigator on the case, released several new details in hopes of garnering more leads on the attacker.

Greaser said the victim was able to scratch deep into her attacker's neck but wasn't sure which side she had scratched. The suspect also had a pronounced tan line on his forehead, most likely from a bicycle helmet.

The assailant was wearing black Spandex bike shorts, black tennis shoes and a gray shirt or fleece with a zipper that stopped at the chest.

Greaser said the woman who was attacked said she had seen the man along the bike path several times, going back to July, while she was walking her dog. He had been both on a bicycle and on foot, according to the woman.

The woman was typically out later in the day when she had seen the man before Jan. 25. She happened to leave for her walk early the day she was attacked and didn't bring her dog, Greaser said.

The attacker left after assaulting the woman on a bike. The woman said it didn't look like an inexensive model, Greaser said.

The woman also said the man had straight but yellow teeth and had very bad breath.
