Town hall was very informative
I just attended the town hall given by state House candidate Mary Parker and have to say I learned so much about the Colorado legislative process and a citizen’s role in it.
Knowledgeable nonpartisan speakers covered current topics of interest like the move to increase the number of Jefferson County commissioners and how the citizen initiative process works. Also included was a presentation about how to find out about how a state congressional representative or senator voted on a certain issue and a means to track a bill’s progress through the legislature.
Anyone who has an interest in how we are governed and represented would benefit from attending a Mary Parker town hall meeting. These meetings are held regularly on the last Saturday of the month at the South Jeffco sheriff’s substation, 11139 Bradford Road, at 9:30 a.m.
