Gators get best of Rebels

Fresh off a 13-11 win against Wheat Ridge, Columbine stumbled in its next outing, falling 8-2 to Standley Lake in a Class 5A Jefferson County League game on April 5.

Curtis Cunningham was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Rebels (2-1 Jeffco, 4-6 overall) and Cody Hagan had two hits.

Chargers remain unbeaten

in league play

Chatfield toppled Steamboat Springs 11-3 on April 5, running its 5A Foothills League record to 5-0.

The Chargers (8-1 overall) host Evergreen at 4 p.m. April 12 at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood.

Hot first half carries Columbine

The Rebels outscored Green Mountain 6-1 in the first half of their April 3 game at Trailblazer Stadium and went on to an 8-3 victory.

Columbine (5-1 league and overall) was led by the 3 goal-2 assist effort of Ryan Ripperton.

Rebels rout Rams

Columbine defeated Green Mountain 13-3 in a 5A Jefferson County League game on April 3, keeping pace with fellow league unbeatens Golden and Wheat Ridge in the process.

Eight different players scored goals for Columbine, with Adrianna Adams and Vinyard each netting a team-most three goals apiece.

Eagles beat pair of

mountain foes

Dakota Ridge defeated Evergreen 19-4 on April 2 and Conifer 10-5 two days later, putting the Eagles at 4-2 in Jeffco League play.

Dakota Ridge (4-4 overall) outscored Conifer 6-2 in the second half to pull away. Addi Piper led the Eagles with four goals and an assist, while Jenna Thiege scored three goals.

Rebels rout Reds, fall to Farmers

Columbine picked up its first Jeffco League win in a 10-0 effort against Arvada on April 1. The Rebels dropped a 1-0 decision to Wheat Ridge on April 3 and are currently 1-2-1 in league play, 3-4-1 overall.
