Even though, the Dakota Ridge cross country team has been competing Carson Hume called the Dave Sanders Invitational on Sept. 28 at Clement Park the first race he and his teammates have prepared for.
“The last two weeks we’ve been totally training hardcore,” Hume said. “So I’m pretty happy with today.”
He has good reason to be. Hume came in seventh in the boys’ Division I race in 16 minutes, 30 seconds. Only Arvada West’s Connor Lockwood, who came in third in 16:12, was faster than Hume among 5A Jeffco League runners.
