On Sept. 12 at 6:15 p.m., the Jeffco Planning Commission will hold a hearing on a controversial proposal to rezone 10.2 acres of park district land on the northwest and northeast corners of Coal Mine Avenue and South Wadsworth Boulevard for possible development as shopping centers.
At a community meeting Jan. 10 to introduce the idea, about 50 Woodmar residents protested the proposal on grounds that it would result in overdevelopment, traffic problems and noise.
