School lockdowns lifted

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect in the stabbing of a woman on Wednesday afternoon in a townhome at 6764 S. Webster St., just off West Coal Mine Avenue and South Pierce Street.

The woman had non-life-threatening injuries, according to sheriff's spokesman Mark Techmeyer. The incident resulted in several area schools within roughly a mile radius being locked down for about 45 minutes, Techmeyer said. The lockdown was later lifted for Columbine High, Ken Caryl Middle, Dutch Creek Elementary and Faith Christian High schools.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s wearing all black clothing, black eyeliner and black lipstick.
