A small fire near the Maxwell Hills subdivision that spurred an evacuation notice Monday afternoon is 100 percent contained, according to the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office.
The wildfire was near the intersection of Elk Mountain and Kuehster roads, said Dan Hatlestad, spokesman for Inter-Canyon Fire-Rescue.
The Bear Gulch Fire was burning on less than an acre Monday afternoon. Hatlestad said the blaze was in a remote area that took six hours for firefighters to hike to.
