The season's first big snowstorm left up to 2 1/2 feet in some parts of South Jeffco, but the precipitation eased enough Thursday night for Jeffco schools to announce they would reopen Friday.
Scattered snow showers were expected to continue overnight. Roads alternated between merely slick and outright treacherous during the course of the two-day storm.
