In a game where both teams were mostly ice-cold from the floor, it's ironic that the fire alarm at Chatfield Senior High School went off moments after the Chargers’ 48-32 victory over Mountain Vista in the opening round of the Class 5A girls basketball state tournament.
The No. 8 Chargers were scorching hot early as they connected on six straight field goal attempts and scored 14 unanswered points to lead by 12 at the end of the quarter.
Then, the Chatfield offense went on a two-quarter hiatus.
