The Chase Bank branch on West Bowles Avenue east of C-470 was robbed Dec. 1. The branch, at 13184 W. Ida Ave., confirmed the robbery to the Courier Dec. 2 but wouldn't release any details.
"We will work with local and federal law enforcement to apprehend any suspects," said Mary Jane Rogers, the regional spokeswoman for Chase Bank.
The male suspect was described as about 6-foot-1 with a slim build, some facial hair, in his mid-20s and possibly Middle Eastern. He was wearing a green "military-style" jacket, according to Jim Shires, spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
Shires said deputies were dispatched to the bank at 4:28 p.m. Dec. 1. Witnesses said the robber handed a teller a note demanding money. A teller gave him some money and he left, Shires said. He added that the suspect indicated he had a weapon in his pocket, but a gun was never seen.
