Jeffco sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Aug. 4 after he apparently shot at an insurance claims investigator.

Marshall C. Lawson, 27, is being held in the Jefferson County Detention Facility on a $150,000 bond on charges of attempted first-degree murder.

An insurance claims investigator went to Marshall’s house at about 6 p.m. Aug. 4 in the 11300 block of South Deer Creek Road to investigate an insurance claim involving Marshall, according to Jeffco sheriff spokesman Jim Shires. The investigator was watching Marshall’s home from a vantage point off Marshall’s property when authorities allege Marshall came outside and started yelling at the investigator. Marshall then pulled out a small caliber gun and shot at the investigator several times, before the investigator ran and called for help.

The investigator wasn’t hurt in the exchange, but several bullet fragments were recovered from the investigator’s backpack.
