BASEBALL
Third-ranked Chargers unleash long ball in a 17-3 rout of Mullen

Nick Chamberlain and Blake Moore drove in four runs each — both hitting homers — and Chatfield broke out for 12 runs in the fourth inning of a 17-3 win over Mullen on April 12.
Brennan Gaber also homered for the third-ranked Chargers, who improved to 11-0 on the season.
Jake Carstensen scored three times and Patrick Barder struck out six in the complete-game victory.

Rebels ride Weiman’s pitching, early lead to win over Mt. Range
Blake Weiman allowed just two runs — one earned — while striking out 11 in six innings as fifth-ranked Columbine doubled up Mountain Range 8-4 on April 9.
Austin Anderson went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs as the Rebels improved to 11-0 on the season.
Patrick Huffaker and Kyle Lopez also had three hits and seven different batters scored runs for Columbine, which led 7-0 after four innings.

Falcons’ rally comes up short at Colorado Springs Christian
COLORADO SPRINGS
— Host Colorado Springs Christian rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to upend Front Range Christian 14-11 on April 10.
Justin Truman went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs for the Falcons, who scored eight runs in the fifth and sixth innings to rally from an early 10-0 deficit and tie the game at 11-all.

GIRLS SOCCER
7th-ranked Columbine rolls to a second straight league victory

Kelcey Cavarra scored two goals and assisted on another as seventh-ranked Columbine rolls past Standley Lake 5-1 on April 10.
Andonia Apergis, Tatum Barton and Madison Chapman also scored for the Lady Rebels (7-1, 2-0 5A Jeffco League). Sarah Luebking made three saves in goal.

Marquis’ second-half goal helps Front Range Christian earn 1-1 tie
Marcella Marquis scored for Front Range Christian in the second half as the Lady Falcons played to a 1-1 tie with Liberty Common on April 10.
Grace Herring assisted on Marquis’ goal for Front Range Christian (3-2-2, 2-0-1 3A Region 7). Morgan Porter made seven saves.
Liz Yeh scored for Liberty Common.
