GYMNASTICS
Lady Chargers places third at Region 3 meet at Cherry Creek
GREENWOOD VILLAGE
— Chatfield placed third with 175.8 points, wile Columbine came in eighth with 142.55 at the 5A Region 3 championships Oct. 2 6 at Cherry Creek High School.
The Lady Chargers finished 2.775 points back of second-place Rocky Mountain.
The 5A state championships will be Nov. 2-3 at Thornton High School.

FOOTBALL
McNamee, Sonju lead Lions to first conference victory
DENVER
—  Junior quarterback Nick McNamee completed 17-of-19 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns and he rushed for another as Littleton picked up its first conference victory of the season with a 42-24 win over John F. Kennedy on Oct. 27.
Austin Sonju rushed for 134 yards and three scores for the Lions (2-7, 1-3 4A Plains).

VOLLEYBALL
Chatfield to host Region 12 tournament for berth to state

The Chatfield Lady Chargers, winners of seven of their past nine matches, will host the three-team 5A Region 12 tournament, CHSAA announced Oct. 29.
Chatfield (17-6), the 36-team bracket’s No. 12 seed, will host No.  13 seed Fossil Ridge and No. 25 seed Castle View. The regional champion will advance to the 12-team 5A state tournament at the Denver Coliseum on Nov. 9-10.
Columbine (10-13) also made the regionals as the No. 29 seed and will play at No. 8 see Highlands Ranch as part of Region 8. No. 17 Greeley West will also be there.
