Chatfield rolls past Pomona, extends winning streak to 15

Chatfield won its 15th straight game with an easy 90-29 thumping of Pomona on Feb. 1 at Chatfield Senior High School.
The Chargers (17-1, 11-0 5A Jeffco League) led 25-6 after one quarter and 50-11 at halftime.
Chatfield now holds a two-game lead in the conference standings over Columbine with five games remaining in the regular season.

Columbine snaps 2-game slide, tops Standley Lake
— Columbine snapped a two-game slide with a 48-36 victory over hsot Standley Lake on Feb. 1.
The Rebels (12-4, 7-2 5A Jeffco League) jumped out to an 18-11 lead after the first quarter and held on from there.
Marcus Asmus led Standley Lake with 14 points.
Columbine had lost back-to-back games at home to Chatfield and Ralston Valley by a combined five points.

Lions snap four-game skid, get first conference victory
Littleton High snapped a four-game losing streak with a 60-56 home victory over Rock Canyon on Feb. 1.
The Lions jumped out to a 22-14 lead after one quarter and held on from there though Rock Canyon closed to within 44-40 after three quarters.
Littleton (7-10, 1-4 5A/4A Continental League) picked up its first conference win of the season.

Byers rallies in the 2nd half to knock off Front Range Christian
Jonathan Roesch scored 20 points and Byers rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to topple host Front Range Christian 52-50 on Feb. 1.
Justin Denette added 12 points and Jared Martin scored 10 for Byers.
The loss dropped Front Range Christian to 6-7 on the season.

Wood leads Dakota Ridge to a second straight win

Lauren Wood scored a game-high 20 points as Dakota Ridge won its second straight game 54-40 over visiting Bear Creek on Jan. 29.
Caitlin Navrati added 12 points for the Lady Eagles (6-11, 5-5 5A Jeffco League).
Bear Creek was led by Edina Krusko’s 12 points.

Lopez, Standley Lake hold off Columbine in overtime thriller
Standley Lake, behind a team-hgh 15 points from Haley Lopez, slipped past host Columbine 51-50 in overtime on Feb. 1.
Casey Torbet added 13 points for the Lady Gators.
Columbine (5-12, 4-6 5A Jeffco League) forced overtime after rallying from a five-point deficit entering the fourth quarter. The loss was Columbine’s third straight.

Oosthuizen leads Lady Falcons to fourth straight victory
Katherine Oosthuizen scored 21 points and Leigh Griffiths added 19 as Front Range Christian won its fourth straight game 55-39 over Byers on Feb. 1.
The Lady Falcons (9-5) put the game away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Byers 20-11 in the period.

Host Pomona staves off rally from Chatfield for a 39-36 win
— Dominique Riley scored 12 points and Kristen Seltenreich added 10 as Pomona held off a late run by Chatfield for a 39-36 win on Feb. 1.
Chatfield (5-13, 3-8 5A Jeffco League) has lost three straight.
