Mann’s 3-point shooting helps Chatfield to 16th straight win
— Brenden Mann scored a game-high 24 points, including six 3-pointers, as Chatfield won its 16th straight game 76-52 over host Bear Creek on Feb. 6.
The Chargers improved to 18-1 overall, 12-0 in the 5A Jeffco League.
Hank Dickey and Alec Wray added 11 points each for Chatfield.
The Chargers, who hold a two-game lead in the conference over defending champion Columbine, could lock up at least a share of the title with wins over Standley Lake on Feb. 12 and Dakota Ridge on Feb. 14. Results from the game with Standley Lake weren’t available at presstime.
DJ Miles led Bear Creek with 24 points. Robert Mendez added 10.

Lions have two-game win streak snapped, fall at Castle View
— Zach Mattice scored 22 points to lead Castle View to a 68-45 victory over visiting LIttleton on Feb. 8.
Teammate Matt Dowsey added 11 points.
The loss snapped Littleton’s two-game winning streak. The Lions dropped to 8-11 overall, 2-5 in the 5A/4A Continental League.

Terpstra’s 21 points leads Denver Christian past FRCS
Alex Terpstra scored 21 points and Luke Spykstra added 14 as Denver Christian topped host Front Range Christian 47-36 on Feb. 9.
The loss was the Falcons’ third straight and fourth in five games.
Denver Christian jumped out to an early lead, going ahead 22-13 after the first quarter.
Front Range Christian dropped to 6-9 on the season, 2-4 in the 2A Mile High League.

Lady Chargers fend off Bear Creek to snap three-game slide

Kristi Vaninger scored 11 points and Kelsi Lawrence added 10 as Chatfield snapped a three-game losing streak with a 53-51 victory over visiting Bear Creek on Feb. 5.
The Lady Chargers (6-13 overall, 4-8 5A Jeffco League) led 25-16 at halftime before holding off a furious second-half rally from Bear Creek.
Edina Krusko scored a game-high 18 points for the Lady Bears. Amber Gary added 13.

Nelson, Wood propel Dakota Ridge past Columbine 52-46
Solveig Nelson scored 15 points and Lauren Wood added 14 as host Dakota Ridge broke away in the fourth quarter for a 52-46 win over Columbine on Feb. 8.
The win was the Lady Eagles’ third in four games.
The game was tied at 32-all entering the fourth quarter before Dakota Ridge (7-12 overall, 6-6 5A Jeffco League) outscored the Lady Rebels 20-14 over the final eight minutes.
Columbine dropped to 5-14, 4-8 in league play with the defeat.

McGovern, Castle View prove to be too much for Littleton
Jess McGovern has 17 points and two other players scored in double figures as visiting Castle View toppled Littleton 69-35 on Feb. 8.
Maya Brown added 13 points and Taylor Nynas scored 10 for Castle View. Littleton dropped to 8-11 overall, 1-6 in the 5A/4A Continental League.

Prentiss, Denver Christian snap FRCS’ five-game win streak
Merisssa Prentiss scored 14 points as Denver Christian snuck past Front Range Christian 32-29 on Feb. 8.
The loss snapped the Lady Falcons’ five-game winning streak.
Leigh Griffiths led Front Range Christian (10-6 overall, 4-2 2A Mile High League) with 11 points.
