Despite 51 saves from Owston Eagles fall to host Aspen
ASPEN
— Host Aspen got goals from Colter Robinson and Willy Doremus en route to a 2-0 victory over Dakota Ridge on Feb. 15 at the Lewis Ice Arena.
The loss ended Dakota Ridge’s season with a 5-13-1 record and nine points in the Foothills Conference.
Eagles goaltender Joey Owston made 51 saves in net.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Hyde, Columbine extend winning streak to six games
ARVADA
— Garrett Hyde led Columbine with 17 points and two other players scored in double figures as the Rebels posted a 55-49 win over host Ralston Valley on Feb. 16.
The win was Columbine’s sixth straight and improved its record to 17-4 overall, 12-2 in the 5A Jeffco League.
Jon Snow added 14 points, while Tyler McMinimee scored 12 for Columbine.

Littleton snaps two-game slide, knocks off visiting Ponderosa
Littleton snapped a two-game losing streak with a 57-44 home victory over Ponderosa on Feb. 15.
The win improved the Lions’ record to 9-12 on the season, 3-6 in the 5A/4A Continental League.

Thomas leads way as Lutheran stops Front Range Christian
James Thomas led four players in double figures with 19 points as Lutheran toppled host Front Range Christian 75-49 on Feb. 15.
The setback was the Falcons’ fifth in six games. Front Range Christian dropped to 7-11 on the season, 4-5 in the 2A Mile High League.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Vaninger sparks Chatfield to third straight victory

Kristi Vaninger scored 15 points to lead Chatfield to its third straight victory, a 51-34 win over visiting Dakota Ridge on Feb. 15.
Kailee Cordova added 11 points for the Lady Chargers (8-13, 6-8 5A Jeffco League).
Lauren Wood paced Dakota Ridge (7-14, 6-8) with 15 points.

Carter’s 18 points propels Columbine past Arvada West
Mia Carter scored 18 points as Columbine won its second straight with a 57-42 win over Arvada West on Feb. 14.
The Lady Rebels improved to 7-14 on the season, 6-8 in the 5A Jeffco League.
