Lions’ Jansky tosses no-hitter in season-opening victory
Littleton junior Chris Jansky tossed a no-hitter while striking out 13 as the Lions opened the 2013 season with a 3-0 victory over Denver North on March 7.
He faced just two batters over the minimum, allowing one on a walk and two more via errors.
Littleton gave him some run support with one run in the third inning and two more in the fourth. Dylan Nickless, Will Brown and Colton Barrett scored for the Lions.
Legend scores in seventh to upend Columbine in opener
Legend broke a 7-all tie with a run in the top of the seventh inning to spoil Columbine’s season opener with an 8-7 victory March 8.
Legend broke out the bats for seven runs in the second inning. Bobby Dalbec, Mickey Peterson and Adam Ausmus all hit home runs for the visiting Titans. Dalbec finished with three RBIs.
Columbine had seven hits, including two from senior Logan Smith. Both of hits were doubles.
Seven different players scored runs for the Rebels, who got three innings of shutout relief pitching from senior Billy Ramsey.

Campman outscores Valor by herself in Columbine’s 18-6 win
Taylor Campman scored seven goals as Columbine toppled Valor Christian 18-6 in the season opener March 7.
Maggie Burns and Nichole Beaston added three goals each. Burns also had a team-high five assists. Campman and Beaston had three each.
Goaltender Julia Lisella made three saves.
Sherman, Tobey lead charge as Dakota Ridge rolls over Summit
Samantha Sherman scored five times and assisted four more goals, while Jessica Tobey scored four goals in Dakota Ridge’s 14-5 season-opening win over Summit on March 7.
Olivia Venturini, Jae Ferrin, Becky Holley, Lauren Evancich and Ali Pearson also scored for the Lady Eagles.
Goaltender Rebecca Smith made five saves for Dakota Ridge.
Lanuza, Lady Chargers control from start vs. Cherokee Trail
Kendra Lanuza scored eight of Chatfield’s 16 goals in a 16-8 rout of Cherokee Trail in the regular-season opener March 7.
Rachael Walker added three goals and five assists, while Savannah Mellberg scored twice. Jen Lanuza, Summer Stafford and Alysia Scott also scored.
Chatfield led 12-4 at halftime.
Emily McMinimee and Summer Nichols combined to make four saves for the Lady Chargers.

Apergis’ goal turns out to be enough in Columbine’s 1-0 win
Andonia Apergis scored the game’s lone goal in the first half as Columbine opened the 2013 season with a 1-0 victory over host ThunderRidge on March 7.
Sophomore goaltender Savannah Luebking made four saves in the shutout.
Stark, Chatfield fit to be tied with Rock Canyon in opener
Chay Stark scored for Chatfield as the Lady Chargers scored a 1-1 tie with host Rock Canyon in the season opener March 7.
Goaltenders Brittany Wilson and Erin Rafferty combined to make 11 saves for Chatfield.
Dakota Wendell scored for Rock Canyon.
Trio of Lady Lions score in shutout of Dakota Ridge
Lanie Sumlin, Lindsey Payson and Rachel Ericson scored for Littleton in a 3-0 shutout of Dakota Ridge in the season opener March 7.
Littleton led 1-0 at halftime.
Elisabeth Sanson had an assist for Littleton.
