SOFTBALL
Creekmore, Goepfert lead charge as Dakota Ridge routs A-West
ARVADA
— Cassidy Creekmore and Miranda Goepfert each drove in three runs as Dakota Ridge rolled to a 12-1 road victory at Arvada West on Sept. 21.
Creekmore went 3-for-4 and scored three runs, while Rachelle Foos also scored three times for the Lady Eagles (12-3, 3-1 5A Jeffco League).
Foos pitched a complete game three-hitter. She walked three and struck out 10.

Valencia, Pomona hand Columbine first league loss
Lexus Valencia went 3-for-3 with four RBIs as Pomona stunned host Columbine 8-3 on Sept. 21.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Lady Rebels (10-4, 3-1 5A Jeffco League).
Carly Perry led Columbine, going 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs. Celeste Renn scored two runs.

FOOTBALL
Winkler lights it up as Chatfield remains undefeated
ARVADA
— Kyle Winkler completed 20 of 25 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns as seventh-ranked Chatfield pulled away from Arvada West in the fourth quarter for a 28-18 victory on Sept. 20 at the North Area Athletic Complex.
Brandon Zanier and Jah’rel Olson caught two TD passes each.
The Chargers improved to 4-0 heading into its 5A Super 6 conference opener vs. Lakewood.

Thais, Nelson rack up yards, touchdowns in Eagles rout
DENVER
— Braxton Thais threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns, while Aaron Nelson rushed for 229 yards and three more scores in Dakota Ridge’s 49-0 pounding of George Washington on Sept. 21 at All City Stadium.
Dakota Ridge (2-2) finished with 648 yards of total offense.
The Eagles led 28-0 at halftime and 35-0 entering the fourth quarter.

BOYS SOCCER
Chatfield wins conference opener, blanks host Pomona
ARVADA
— Freshman Phillip Gustafson scored two goals and assisted on another as Chatfield shut out host Pomona 5-0 on Sept. 19 at the North Area Athletic Complex.
Ben Overholt, Lee Holmes and Tyler Perko also scored goals for the Chargers (5-2, 1-0 5A Jeffco League). Steven Seagraves and Mike Karns split time in net for Chatfield.
