Armstrong’s two goals propels Columbine past rival Chatfield

Daniel Armstrong scored twice, including a goal just 48 seconds into the game, as Columbine stormed past Chatfield 5-1 on Feb. 7 at the Edge Ice Arena.
Nick Stasch, Jacob Seibold and Ian Lewis also scored for the Rebels (11-6-1).
Payden Thanner scored Chatfield’s lone goal after Columbine had gone ahead 3-0 early in the second period.
The Rebels, who dropped a 7-4 decision to Battle Mountain a day later, outshot Chatfield 44-13.

Wood, Dakota Ridge hold off host Columbine for a 40-37 win

Lauren Wood scored a game-high 13 points as Dakota Ridge held off a feisty Columbine squad for a 40-37 road victory on Feb. 7.
Jae Ferrin and Caitlin Navratil scored nine points each for the Lady Eagles (14-5, 10-2 5A Jeffco League). Dakota Ridge extended its winning streak to four games.
The Lady Eagles led 24-15 at halftime before Columbine rallied.
Bridget Snow led Columbine (8-10) with 11 points. Tatum Barton added seven.

Second-quarter surge helps Chatfield topple Bear Creek

Chatfield went on a 31-19 run in the second quarter to pull away from visiting Bear Creek 76-60 on Feb. 5.
With the victory, the Chargers, who’ve won six straight, improved to 16-3 overall, 11-1 in 5A Jeffco League play. Bear Creek dropped to 6-13.

Aman, Denver Christian rally in the fourth to top Falcons
Aric Aman scored 15 points and host Denver Christian outscored Front Range Christian 21-8 in the fourth quarter to rally for a 41-33 victory.
The Falcons (11-3, 5-2 2A Mile High League) led 25-20 entering the fourth quarter.
