Former Jeffco schools Superintendent Cindy Stevenson received $204,194 in her separation agreement with the district after her last day Feb. 21.

On Nov. 7, two days after the new conservative majority was elected to the school board, Stevenson announce she would retire effective June 30. On Feb. 8, she said she wasn’t trusted by the new board majority and asked the board to approve an earlier exit.

The major parts of the agreement include the remaining portion of Stevenson’s salary — $68,500 — and unused sick and vacation time — $121,001.

The eight-page agreement states that Stevenson will not apply for employment with Jeffco Public Schools until the end of 2018. She is also not allowed to volunteer in the district until after the same year.

The Colorado Association of School Executives announced last month that Stevenson had accepted a job with the organization’s new leadership initiative.

Stevenson spent more than 40 years with Jeffco Public Schools, 12 as superintendent. She was the first Jeffco alumna to serve as superintendent.
