Thayer’s homer helps Chargers settle for tie

The Chatfield Chargers tied the Garretson Bears 1-1 in Game 2 of the Cherokee Trail Fourth of July Wood Bat tournament June 28. The game was called after nine innings.
Final results from the weekend-long tournament weren’t available at press time.
Garretson, a team composed of athletes from various schools in Weld County, some even returning from college to man the team, proved to be excellent competition for the Chargers.
