State Patrol troopers and athletes from the Special Olympics worked at the Chili’s at 8454 S. Kipling Parkway on Sunday to raise awareness and funds. Along with donations made at the tables, Chili’s statewide donated 15 percent of the profits from July 20 to Special Olympics.
“It helps bring an awareness that there’s a charity out there that gives these remarkable young people trying to participate help,” said Trooper Nate Reid, the State Patrol spokesman. “It’s a small token for us to give a few hours of our time.”
Reid said the State Patrol participates in the Tip-A-Cop events across Colorado.
