By Ramsey Scott

Two men suspected of planning to break into parked vehicles were arrested recently in South Jeffco.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 5800 block of West Roxbury Place, in the Columbine Knolls neighborhood, on Jan. 16 after neighbors spotted two men looking into the windows of vehicles parked along the street.

Deputies arrested Derrick Hawkes, 19, and William Bisson, 23, in the neighborhood a short time later.

Hawkes was arrested in connection with first-degree criminal trespass, while Bisson was arrested on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, more than 20 cars have been entered in South Jeffco’s since the start of the year. All of the cars entered in the past month were unlocked.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to lock their cars.
