SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Colorado United White U-15 girls soccer team scored a 2-1 victory over the FPYC Wildcats Blue, a team from Virginia, on July 15 to place third in the four-team 2012 National Presidents Cup at the Cherry Island Soccer Complex.
Colorado United White failed to make the championship game after going 1-2 in pool play. The U-15 squad from Littleton dropped its first game 3-2 to GUSA Navy of North Carolina on July 12 before scoring a 4-2 win over FPYC Wildcats Blue the next day. McKenna Moore scored a hat trick in the win, including two goals in the first 10 minutes. Rebekah Haysley also scored for Colorado.
Needing a win against the Dallas Texans 97 Girls Red North team on July 14, Colorado suffered a 2-1 loss after Dallas scored two goals in the game’s final 10 minutes. Colorado led 1-0 at halftime.
GUSA Navy won the championship with a 2-1 win over Dallas.
