Columbine Hills Elementary School kindergarten student Lydia Barclay blows a kiss to Ramblin', a labrador who for more than a decade has been at the school nearly every day. The 11-year-old dog, who retired from her duties Nov. 11, originally worked as a support animal for former student Quinn Silco, who now attends Columbine High School. When Quinn moved on to middle school, his parents continued to bring Ramblin' to the elementary school, where she listened to students read, a program that helped many struggling readers gain confidence.
One of the most well-known faces at Columbine Hills Elementary School retired Nov. 11 after a decade of tenure, which in the case of Ramblin’ the Retriever was about 70 canine years.
