Dakota Ridge students walk out to demonstrate peace, unity

Around 10 a.m. Wednesday, senior Mat McCormick walked out of his Advanced Placement calculus class for 17 minutes.

So did about 400 other students throughout Dakota Ridge High School.

The crowd flooded out of the school toward the west side of the building, where McCormick — speaking through a megaphone — asked them to introduce themselves to someone new.

There was a chorus of introductions before he addressed them again.
