Semifinal heartbreak for Columbine

ARVADA — It was hard for Columbine football players to depart the field at the North Area Athletic Complex on Nov. 28.

“I just love this team so much. I never wanted this to end,” Columbine senior quarterback Jake Lowry said through the tears after a painful one-point loss in the Class 5A state semifinal. “We’ve been through so much this season and all four years. We’ve worked so hard. It’s a tough way to go out.”
