The Rev. Todd Sorensen and two of his church’s lay members stand in the parking lot of King Soopers, ashes in hand. The wind whips at their St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church banner, and the bright sun beats down.
A large van drives up to the corner of the parking lot where the three had erected a table, some chairs and pamphlets. The driver, Amy Hansen, a parishioner of St. Gregory’s, gets out, but the four youngsters in the back of the van only open the doors.
